I know it's only 3 games, but I don't look for them to turn this around - no offense to the Lightning, Jets and Habs, but this wasn't exactly the Bruins, Flyers and Habs of the early-mid '70's that they were playing against (the Flyers, on the other hand, started 0 and 3 but the quality of opponent made that somewhat understandable). The Caps stars look lifeless, and their defense zone coverage is awful. If sacrificing this lockout-shortened season ultimately leads to a better team/style of play, I'd be ok with that. Hopefully we will see some impact in the next year or two of recent drafts with Forsberg, Wilson and ultimately Kuznetsov making the big club. In the meantime, a nice shut-down d-man would be nice.

Yeah, he seemed to make a solid impression here in the brief pre-season camp.

Pretty sad when picking up a point feels like a success. Ovechkin/Backstrom have to figure out a way to make an impact for Caps to hope to be competitive.
